Great News - Telehealth is added to Act 16

Gov. Wolf signed HB1024 into law today, adding the use of telehealth (certification appointments via telehealth) into Act 16. The option to be certified/recertified via a telehealth appt is now permanent. This particular aspect of HB1024 is a win for every PA MMJ patient. Over the past year, we have seen how telehealth has increased accessibilty, making it possible for folks to get certified and recertified who otherwise would not be able to. This includes those that have no certifying doctor in their area, those with a disability that makes it difficult or impossible to leave the home, and those who don’t drive or cannot afford to take a day off from work just to travel to a doctor’s appointment.

I’m so relieved that the future of telehealth in the PA MMJ Program no longer has to be wondered about or in doubt. I’m thankful to be able to continuing doing what I love and talking to folks from all across the state. {I’ve only ever lived in southeastern PA, so I’ve been learning my PA geography over the past year :) }
