FAQ - PA MMJ Program website - “Patient Certifications” tab

I've recently had several people ask me about the "Patient Certifications" tab in their patient account in PA Medical Marijuana Program website: "I recently got recertified but I don't see that certification listed under the 'Patient Certifications' tab in my account. Why is that?"

The answer is - The only certification that is visible/viewable by a patient in their account on the PA Medical Marijuana Program website, is their ACTIVE certification. You cannot see expired or pending certifications. Each certification period corresponds with the Issued Date and Expiration Date on the corresponding MMJ ID card.

Confusingly, your certification period does not begin on the day that the certification was submitted by your doctor. Your initial (very first) certification period begins typically 3-5 days after your initial certification is submitted by your doctor (the official start date is determined by when the card is printed by the Dept of Health.) Each new certification period after that gets tacked on to the end of the previous certification period, so that you don’t lose any time on your current certification period.

So don't get nervous if you don't see your most recent certification listed. It will become viewable when it becomes the Active cert on your account (which will happen after your currently Active cert from last year expires.)

Thanks for reading and I hope this answers the question.
